April Winds (V2)
April winds persist
in doing charity work
early through
willow tree branches
melting reminisces of
snow crystals
on my balcony.
Canadian geese wait
impatiently for their
winter feeding below.
The silent sounds
they hear-
no dropping
of the sunflower
seeds.

MICHAEL LEE JOHNSON lived ten years in Canada during the Vietnam era: now known as the Itasca, IL poet.
